Jane Clayton is a corporate finance lawyer based in Dubai.
Jane focuses on cross border mergers and acquisitions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, investment funds, private equity transactions, joint ventures, inward investments and DFSA regulatory advice.
Jane recently advised Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation on the privatization of its private jet business carried out through its wholly owned subsidiary, Saudia Private Aviation Limited (SPA). The transaction involved the sale of 30 per cent of the share capital of SPA to PrivatAir Saudi Arabia Limited, an international aviation group based in Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.
Transactions on which Jane has also advised include advising Islamic Development Bank on the establishment of a US$2 billion infrastructure fund focusing on certain member countries of the Islamic Development Bank, and advising Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector on the establishment of a Shari'a compliant renewable energy fund (which also focused on certain member countries of the Islamic Development Bank).
According to Chambers Global Jane has "excellent depth of experience in the region, having practised in Dubai for 12 years. Her investment funds knowledge forms part of her wider corporate practice and she is well regarded for cross-border advice".
Jane is described in Chambers Global 2014 as having "a broad swathe of experience of M&A and investment funds mandates, as well as DIFC and regulatory law matters".
Jane was listed in the 2014 edition of Expert Guide to the World's Leading Women in Business.
Jane was awarded Private Investment Funds – Lawyer of the Year – UAE in 2016 by Lawyer Monthly.
