Biography
Matthew Findley is an employee benefits and executive compensation lawyer based in London. He advises companies in relation to the design, implementation and operation of share plans and employee incentive arrangements both in the UK and internationally.
Matthew’s experience extends to both executive plans and all-employee arrangements as well as dealing with employee benefits in the context of mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and demergers. He also has considerable experience relating to the corporate governance and investor relations issues associated with executive incentives and remuneration planning generally.
Matthew is recommended in both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 and has been described as "an expert on global share plans" and a "smart, client-centred and proactive" practice head with a "stellar" employee benefits team. Clients have also remarked that he is "highly practical and down-to-Earth" and that he "can communicate complicated issues in a straightforward way" and that he "is very knowledgeable and always provides advice that is considered". He has also been recognised for his responsive and comprehensive client service. Matthew has also been quoted in both UK Houses of Parliament on employee share ownership and is regularly quoted in both the international and trade press on employee incentive matters.
Matthew sits on the Corporate and Regulatory Committee of the Share Plan Lawyers Group. In 2015, Matthew was named in the Tax Journal’s “40 under 40” guide to the 40 leading tax professionals based in the UK under the age of 40, who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their careers to date.
