Biography
Alexander Tsakoev is a banking and finance lawyer based in Moscow. He works across different types of cross-border and domestic finance transactions governed by English and Russian law.
Alexander acts for borrowers and lenders, including multilateral financial institutions, development banks and export credit agencies on bilateral and syndicated loans. He has developed extensive knowledge of commodity finance, real estate finance, acquisition finance and asset finance. He also has experience of insolvency and work-outs as well as M&A and regulatory matters in the banking sector. He works across the following sectors: energy; metals; mining; real estate; transport; and financial markets.
Alexander is ranked as a leading Russian banking lawyer in Legal 500 EMEA 2017-2019, Chambers Global 2017-2019 and Chambers Europe 2017-2019. Chambers Europe 2016/2017 recognizes Alexander as "an experienced lawyer and negotiator who, in his consultations, takes into account the individual features of the problem". It adds that "Alexander tries to deliver 'real world solutions' and is very client-oriented. He always seeks to 'close' the deal in the most effective way. "
