Biography
Janelene Chen is a structured lending lawyer based in Singapore. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin and has also spent time in our Beijing office.
Janelene's practice includes all aspects of structured lending. This includes acquisition finance, structured trade and commodities finance (including receivables financing, borrowing base financing, reserve base lending, asset based lending), telecoms finance, secondary market trading project finance and cross-border real estate finance. She advises financial institutions, funds as well as sponsors.
Janelene was admitted as an advocate and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2007, and as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2012.
Janelene was named a Recognised Practitioner by Chambers & Partners 2020. She was recognised by The Legal 500 – Singapore 2020 as a 'Rising Star', and in 2019 as a 'Next Generation Lawyer' and "her ability to manage a deal end-to-end". She was also listed by Singapore Business Review as one of the most influential lawyers aged 40 and under in 2016.
She is part of the 'strong and forward-thinking team' at Norton Rose Fulbright, praised for its 'excellent industry knowledge and quality of service' in The Legal 500 – Asia Pacific 2017.
