Janelene Chen is a banking and finance lawyer based in Singapore. She has also worked in our Beijing office.
Janelene's practice includes all aspects of structured finance, including acquisition finance, asset finance, structured trade and commodities finance, telecoms finance, Islamic finance, project finance and cross-border real estate finance. She advises financial institutions as well as borrowers.
Prior to joining us, Janelene was with the banking and finance group of a leading Singapore law firm for four years where she advised on local and cross-border financing transactions.
Janelene was admitted as an advocate and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2007, and as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2012. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Janelene was recognised by Legal 500 – Singapore 2019 as a Next Generation Lawyer: Banking and Finance, and for "her ability to manage a deal end-to-end". She was also listed by Singapore Business Review as one of the most influential lawyers aged 40 and under in 2016.
She is part of the 'strong and forward-thinking team' at Norton Rose Fulbright, praised for its 'excellent industry knowledge and quality of service' in The Legal 500 – Asia Pacific 2017.
