Patrice Préville focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of medicinal chemistry, pharmaceuticals (drug formulation/delivery), organic chemistry (enzymatic/chemical processes), inorganic chemistry (catalysts, processes, electrochemistry) and polymer chemistry.
Mr. Préville has been practising in intellectual property since 2001. Before joining our Montréal office as a patent agent, he was an intellectual property advisor at a Canadian pharmaceuticals company. From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Préville was a research scientist in medicinal chemistry and was involved in various research projects relating to the treatment or prevention of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and HIV and hepatitis C viral infections.
As a result of his experience in private practice and with companies of various sizes, Mr. Préville has developed a broad perspective and a flexible approach that allow him to respond effectively to the needs of clients. He is able to assist in maximizing the value of their technologies from the R&D phase to patent delivery and can also assist in negotiating agreements and licences and in resolving disputes relating to patent rights. Mr. Préville works in both French and English.
