Biography
Fortunat Nadima Nadima's practice focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on intellectual property disputes. He has acted for clients in cases before Canada's federal courts, involving issues of patent validity and infringement, damages and profits quantification and recovery in various industries (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, sports equipment, land clearing equipment, snow removal equipment, etc.).
Fortunat also advises clients on compliance with Quebec language, advertising and consumer protection laws, as well as Health Canada regulatory approvals.
From 2017 to 2018, Fortunat served as an assistant legal counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague. During the fall of 2018, he participated in our secondment program, in which he gained experience in the legal department of Groupe Lune Rouge Inc.
During his law studies, Fortunat was an editor of the McGill Law Journal, for which he also edited podcasts. He also participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and has coached the McGill Faculty of Law moot team for the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot.
