Biography
Sonali Seneviratne is an Environment and Planning lawyer based in Sydney.
Sonali represents individuals, government and corporate clients in litigation involving development appeals, and defences of environmental offences.
Sonali regularly advises clients in the energy, waste and development sectors on cultural and built heritage, native title, biodiversity protection and offsetting, pollution incidents, and the management and rehabilitation of contaminated land.
Prior to joining Norton Rose Fulbright in May 2016, Sonali worked as a lawyer at the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), where she provided legal advice on a variety of matters including environment conservation, pollution, dangerous goods, and cultural and built heritage to officers at OEH and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA). Sonali also prosecuted individuals and companies for breaches of legislation administered by OEH and EPA.
