Biography

Chanelle Wong is an associate in the labour and employment group. Chanelle advises and represents employers on a wide range of labour, employment, and human rights issues, in both unionized and non-unionized environments. She provides practical and strategic advice to employers at all stages of the employment relationship, from hiring to dismissal. Chanelle advises on compliance with all workplace statutory requirements, including employment standards, labour relations, occupational health and safety, and human rights legislation. She drafts and reviews workplace documents, including employment agreements, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, as well as company policies, including respectful workplace, privacy, drug and alcohol, and harassment policies.

Chanelle represents clients at mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings, and has assisted with work-place related investigations. She has acted for clients on all aspects of workplace law, including wrongful dismissals, disability issues, discrimination claims, bullying and harassment claims, union grievances, and certification applications.  Chanelle has represented clients at the Provincial and Supreme courts of BC, the BC Labour Relations Board, Employment Standards Branch, and Human Rights Tribunal, and before various labour arbitrators.
