Berend Crans is an aviation lawyer (advocaat) based in Amsterdam where he is head of the aviation and aircraft finance practice.
Berend has extensive experience advising on all aspects of aircraft acquisition, ownership, financing, leasing, operation and disposal. With many years of experience representing airlines, his practice also covers, in particular, regulatory advice governing licensing, designation under bilateral air transport agreements, code sharing and general commercial advice on matters such as aircraft operating agreements, and engineering and maintenance agreements.
Berend is cited as "one of the leading aviation lawyers" in the market in Chambers Europe 2017 and as "highly regarded" in 2019's IFLR1000.
Berend graduated in civil law and public international law at the University of Leiden and studied aviation law at University College London.
