Harry Lawless

Biography

Harry Lawless is a commercial lawyer based in Sydney. Since joining Norton Rose Fulbright in 2016, he has accrued extensive litigation, insolvency and advisory experience for governments and the private sector.

From 2021 to 2024 Harry worked for an international development institution in Washington DC delivering law reform policy advice to governments in over twenty countries, mostly in Africa and the Asia-Pacific. He has also published extensively on issues of insolvency law reform.

Harry is admitted in NSW and New York and holds a Masters of Administrative Law and Policy from the University of Sydney. He is a member of the International Insolvency Institute’s ‘Nextgen’ 2024 cohort.

  • Represented a financial services provider in the Banking and Financial Services Royal Commission. 2018
  • Solicitor Assisting the Inquiry by the Honourable Patricia Bergin SC under section 143 of the Casino Control Act (NSW).  2019-2021.
  • Provision of technical and policy advice on insolvency law reform to the governments of more than twenty emerging and developing economies.
