Richard is an Associate in the firm's insurance litigation team and is based in Cape Town.

Richard focuses on dispute resolution and legal advice in the insurance sector as well as more broadly in relation to commercial contractual issues.  He has experience in a number of areas including professional indemnity liability claims, medical malpractice, and business interruption claims.

Richard has assisted the firm in a number of complex claims in both the High Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal dealing with disputes pertaining to insurance policies, contracts, and various medical malpractice issues including disputes over intrapartum obstetric care.

Having obtained a Bachelor of Sciences (Human Physiology & Biochemistry) at the University of Cape in 2013, Richard completed his postgraduate Bachelor of Laws (awarded cum laude) in 2017 and his Master of Laws (specialising in Intellectual Property Law and awarded with distinction) at the same university in 2019.

Richard joined Norton Rose Fulbright in 2019 as a candidate attorney and was retained in the firm's Cape Town office since 2021.
