Biography
Bryant Oakes practises business law and intellectual property law in our Toronto office. His practice focuses on protecting and commercializing intellectual property and technology assets for clients of all sizes from start-ups to large corporations. Bryant is regularly involved in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including in relation to licensing, collaboration, SaaS, PaaS, assignments, and non-disclosures. He also advises on intellectual property-related transactions.
In addition, Bryant acts as regulatory counsel to companies regulated by Health Canada, particularly drug manufacturers. Bryant helps clients navigate the legislation and guidance governing pharmaceutical companies, and also has experience advising on advertising matters and access to information requests.
Bryant completed a secondment at GSK, where he supported a broad vaccines and pharmacy business. He oversaw and supported daily engagements and strategies for an extensive portfolio of vaccines. Most notably, he was directly involved in the successful launch and commercialization of a first-to-market vaccine.
Bryant joined our Toronto office as a summer student in 2019 and returned to complete his articles the following year. During his articles, Bryant was seconded to one of Canada's leading financial institutions.
