Biography
Seraijah is an insolvency, financial restructuring and commercial litigation lawyer based in Brisbane.
Her experience includes advising corporate officers and insolvency practitioners, secured and unsecured creditors (such as financial institutions and funds) and debtors in relation to commercial disputes, debt recovery, security enforcement, insolvent trading, unfair preference claims, and other general bankruptcy and insolvency procedures.
Seraijah has broad exposure to restructuring engagements, including advising as follows:

directors in relation to available restructuring options and their duties and liabilities;

secured creditors in relation to their security position and restructuring and enforcement options and strategy;

financial institutions in relation to their obligations when dealing with financially distressed customers and in-line with the new Banking Code of Practice;

unsecured creditors in relation to managing their exposure and their rights in dealing with companies in financial distress; and
-
insolvency practitioners about their obligations and rights when undertaking their duties in formal insolvency processes.
Seraijah also has dispute resolution and litigation experience in negotiation, mediation, primary and appellate proceedings. Areas of focus have been:

bankruptcy and insolvency disputes;

fraud and asset recovery;

professional negligence; and

securities regulation and enforcement.
Seraijah has been tasked with large-scale disclosure (including e-Discovery), legal research, preparing briefs and notes for Counsel, preparing court documents (including pleadings, particulars, petitions, affidavits, orders, notices, submissions), preparing court books and appeal records, preparing material as to costs and offers to settle, and instructing Junior and Senior Counsel.
