Biography

Victor Sim is a banking and finance lawyer based in Hong Kong.

He advises on a wide range of banking transactions including leveraged finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance, structured finance and take-private finance, and has extensive experience representing financial institutions, private credit funds, sponsors and corporate borrowers.

  • A syndicate of Taiwanese banks - on a leveraged financing provided to a Japanese private equity fund in relation to its acquisition of a majority stake in a PRC based biotechnology group
  • A syndicate of Taiwanese banks on a leveraged financing provided to a Japanese private equity fund in relation to its acquisition of a majority stake in a Philippines based technology and software group
  • A syndicate of banks led by JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley - on a EUR440m term loan facility and US$500m revolving loan facility to Huazhu Group (formerly known as China Lodging Group) for its acquisition of Frankfurt-based Deutsche Hospitality and the refinancing of its existing debt
  • FWD Group Limited - on a US$1.8bn financing for the acquisition of SCB Life Assurance, a life insurance business based in Thailand
  • Pacific Century Premium Developments – in relation to a HK$1.382 billion dual tranche construction loan facilities with respect to a premium residential property in Hong Kong
