Biography
Nashneen is a commercial, financial and regulatory dispute resolution lawyer. Nashneen is particularly experienced in dealing with banks and other financial services entities having acted on behalf of some of the largest global financial institutions. Nashneen is also experienced in representing Queensland Government entities, Government owned not for profit organisations, and charities, as well as Energy and Infrastructure corporations between Australia and Asia.

Commercial Litigation
- Harlin Solar Pty Ltd (related entity of Keppel Corporation Singapore) - defended proceedings, on three occasions, proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia in excess of $65 million regarding the development of the proposed largest solar farm project in Queensland.
- Clayton Industries USA - resolved a dispute for a leading steam generator company in the US regarding misleading or deceptive conduct claims under the Australian Consumer Law in the County Court of Victoria concerning the sale of a steam generator to a manufacturer of speciality chemicals in Australia.
- Energy World Corporation Limited - defending proceedings against large ASX listed Energy and Infrastructure corporation in relation to debt claims in the Queensland District Court.
Financial Services Disputes
- Major international banks - on asset recovery and consumer credit claims as well as providing risk management, regulatory and strategic advice in respect of threatened and instigated proceedings by consumers, and regulatory litigation.
- US bank (for its UK counterpart) - leading advice to stave off High Court of England & Wales insolvency and class action proceedings in England involving approximately 25,000 customers.
- UK major automotive finance provider - various proceedings resulting from commission structures and dealer relationships in respect of allegations of misrepresentation, fraud, bribery, knowing receipt of secret profits, breach of consumer credit regulations and unfair customer treatment.
- British commercial bank - part of the decision-making committee on a remediation project regarding customer complaints arising in commercial lending relationships.
- Queensland Mortgage Investment Fund - in a complex suite of defence litigation in the Federal Court of Australia arising out of the high-profile collapse of fund concerning claims regarding breach of director duties, creditor/ investor interests, shareholder rights, misappropriation of funds and fraudulent misrepresentation.
Government
- Brisbane Housing Company - in urgent legal proceedings in the Supreme Court of Queensland to acquire a right to oversail its crane in the air space of a neighbouring property before construction was due to commence, which was successfully obtained.
- Queensland Building and Construction Commission - in merits review proceedings in the Queensland Civil and Appeals Tribunal, and advising in relation to complex, technical issues relevant to decisions of the Commission, and on operational procedures.
Regulatory Disputes & Investigations
- Queensland Mortgage Investment Fund - in large-scale financial services litigation proceedings representing the former directors of a public listed mortgage investment fund in liquidation, commenced by the ASIC in the Federal Court of Australia as well as related proceedings in the Supreme Court of Queensland and property proceedings the Magistrates Court of Queensland.
- ASIC investigations - defending mortgage investment fun in internal review and enforcement hearings commenced by ASIC following regulatory and enforcement investigations.
- Banning orders - defending providers of financial services and credit operating in Australia in banning and license disqualification proceedings commenced by ASIC.
- Mining companies - defended Queensland and national mining companies against Government commenced regulatory proceedings fin respect of alleged breaches of environmental protection orders, breaches of environmental mining permits, waste management and mineral contamination, and environmental licensing issues.
