John Varriano is an intellectual property lawyer based in Toronto. He focuses on the acquisition and protection of intellectual property rights.

John joined us as a summer student in 2021 and returned to article with us in 2022-2023. While articling, John completed a secondment at GlaxoSmithKline where he gained valuable experience with commercial, regulatory, and intellectual property matters related to the innovative pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to law school, John developed practical knowledge on power generation and energy systems while working with the Shell Canada Sarnia Refinery to design a heat recovery system for his capstone project while completing his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
