Biography
Humna Shaikh is an associate in our Toronto office focusing on technology, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
As part of her cybersecurity practice, she advises clients on all aspects of breach response and remediation, including complying with privacy regulations and other regulatory reporting requirements, liaising with forensic experts, and notifying impacted individuals and stakeholders. She also works with clients on developing cyber readiness programs.
Humna advises clients on privacy compliance initiatives across all industries. She also provides strategic advice on technology agreements.
In law school, Humna worked as a research assistant at a tech lab focused on exploring the intersections of politics, communication, and technology as well as a caseworker and division leader at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. Humna also served as co-president of the South Asian Law Students’ Association at the University of Ottawa. Prior to law school, Humna spent several years working in policy development on Parliament Hill.
