Biography
Susan Lawhon, Of Counsel in the Houston office, assists clients in wealth transfer planning and administering trusts and estates. Susan also works with clients to create and re-organize entities for corporate and business succession purposes. Susan has experience handling probate and fiduciary litigation and negotiating and preparing family settlement agreements and releases. Susan's twenty-year litigation experience in federal and state courts includes cases involving breach of contract, business torts, consumer law, oil and gas disputes, securities fraud, shareholder oppression, and fiduciary disputes. While practicing in the bankruptcy group, Susan represented or assisted in representing debtors in Chapter 11 cases and creditors in proceedings arising in or related to Chapter 11 cases. She has handled bankruptcy removal and intervention actions, automatic stay litigation, and adversary proceedings.
