Norton Rose Fulbright adds internationally experienced partners in Perth and Sydney

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced that it has appointed Paul Devlin, a senior litigation partner with decades of US law experience, as a partner in Perth. The firm has also promoted to the partnership Daniel Allman, a dispute resolution lawyer based in Sydney with a focus on cross-border disputes and international arbitration.

Paul is a dual-qualified lawyer in Australia and New York, with a focus on white collar and investigations matters and civil litigation, including complex multi-state class actions. His client base hails predominantly from the financial services, technology, food and agriculture industries and he has a background in disputes and investigations arising in the commodities sector, such as price and benchmark manipulation cases. He has also worked on complex structured trade finance matters.

Paul will add to Norton Rose Fulbright’s strong Australian and global white-collar crime and civil litigation teams, bringing his history of advising on matters spanning market manipulation, insider trading, accounting fraud, money laundering, foreign bribery, sanctions, offshore banking and class actions, across the US, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

Paul began his career in the WA State Solicitor’s Office, and after working at King & Wood Mallesons in Sydney, studied at Harvard Law School and was admitted to the New York Bar. He then worked at a range of US and global law firms, practising as a corporate M&A, structured finance and litigation lawyer. He joins from top-tier US law firm Perkins Coie, where he worked from 2021 following a stint at Richards Kibbe & Orbe culminating in his appointment to partner in 2018. 

 

Daniel Allman

As an experienced cross-border disputes lawyer, Daniel Allman has represented clients in international commercial and investment arbitration. His domestic litigation practice involves disputes with transnational implications as well as general commercial litigation, and he has experience across the construction, energy, finance, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, technology and transport industries. 

Daniel is dual-qualified in Australia and New York, and has worked on matters spanning Australia, Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America. His knowledge of international arbitration and complex litigation rests on academic credentials from the University of Melbourne and Columbia University, and experience in practice at King & Wood Mallesons in Melbourne from 2011 to 2014, including on secondment in Shanghai, and at Covington & Burling in New York from 2016 to 2019, after which he joined Norton Rose Fulbright in Sydney.
