Norton Rose Fulbright adds another corporate M&A and DEI advisory partner in Melbourne

Australia Press release April 2023

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced today that experienced M&A and equity capital markets (ECM) partner Tuanh Nguyen has joined the firm’s corporate M&A team in Melbourne.

Tuanh brings a history of advising international and Australian clients on corporate transactions involving M&A and ECM deals. She also has a passion for, and significant experience in, ESG as an advisor on diversity and inclusion, corporate governance and risk management matters.

Tuanh is experienced in advising companies on fundraising transactions (including IPOs, secondary capital raising processes and start-up fundraisings) and private and public M&A deals (including takeovers, schemes, private equity transactions and corporate restructuring). She advises on cross-border corporate transactions in a wide range of industries, including financial services, agriculture, mining, construction services, manufacturing and retail, and across Australia, Asia, Europe and the US.

In the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) space, Tuanh’s advisory and consulting work helps organisations to enhance their DEI outcomes by driving change through leadership and organisational capability upskilling, workplace culture reviews, strategy development, and governance and policy reviews.

In 2020, she was recognised for her work as a cultural diversity advocate as a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian Australians as part of the Asian Australian Leadership Summit.

Tuanh was most recently a director in both PwC’s corporate law and diversity and inclusion consulting practices, and also previously worked at global law firm Baker & McKenzie. Her appointment follows the announcement on March 14 of Michael O’Neill, also from PwC, joining as a Norton Rose Fulbright partner in the national corporate M&A team and dividing his time between Melbourne and Sydney.

Norton Rose Fulbright chief executive partner in Australia Alison Deitz commented:

“We are delighted to welcome Tuanh Nguyen, our fourth new partner announced in a month and second for the national corporate M&A team. Tuanh brings rich and diverse experience to the firm, as both a seasoned advisor to M&A and ECM clients and as a recognised authority on a range of DEI and ESG issues.”

Norton Rose Fulbright corporate team leader Bryan Pointon commented:

“Tuanh’s strong international and domestic experience as an advisor on corporate and fundraising transactions across a range of our priority industries will benefit our Australian and foreign client base. Together with Michael, she adds further quality and depth to our Melbourne partnership and the national corporate M&A team.”

Tuanh Nguyen commented:

“I was attracted to Norton Rose Fulbright not only because of the significant M&A and ECM work the firm does for Australian and international dealmakers, but also for its commitment to being at the forefront of ESG and DEI issues. I look forward to helping to advise the firm’s clients across the diverse mix of opportunities and risks they manage as they search for sustainable growth.”
