Norton Rose Fulbright adds three new high quality disputes partners in Sydney and Melbourne

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced three strategic appointments to the Australian partnership in the Sydney and Melbourne offices.

Phillipa Beck and Daniel Vicano will become partners in the national construction and engineering practice, while Ann Donohue joins the dispute resolution and litigation team.

Ann Donohue

Ann joins in Sydney having spent many years as a partner at Minter Ellison. Her practice comprises complex litigation (in the banking and finance, resources and construction sectors), financial regulatory investigations, class actions and Corporations Act disputes. 

She has acted for a range of major international and domestic financial institutions and other listed companies, often working closely with M&A and private equity teams, and with a focus on “bet the company” litigation. She started with firm on October 9.

Phillipa Beck

Phillipa will join in Melbourne as a construction and engineering partner. She returns to the firm after spending more than five years in our Melbourne office, advising a range of major construction and infrastructure clients on project delivery and disputes. Phillipa holds dual qualifications in Law and Civil Engineering. Prior to her time at the firm, Phillipa worked on the Wembley Stadium litigation at a Magic Circle firm in London. More recently she has run her own legal consultancy and worked as the sole in-house counsel for construction company Qanstruct. This work spanned risk management, contract drafting and negotiation and dispute avoidance and management.  She starts in February next year.

Daniel Vicano

Daniel has been promoted to the partnership from his current role as special counsel in the Sydney construction and engineering team. Having worked with the firm since 2008, Daniel has significant experience in construction and engineering project delivery and disputes, and has been involved in a wide array of dispute resolution including litigation, adjudication, expert determination and arbitration. A particular focus has been in matters involving major rail and infrastructure projects for contractors. Daniel joins the partnership on December 1.
