Maude Grenier

Biography

Maude Grenier acts as a strategic advisor to provincially and federally regulated employers on employment law and labour relations matters, covering all aspects of day-to-day human resources management. In the context of major restructurings, including workforce reduction or retention, or the imposition of disciplinary measures or the negotiation of senior executive contracts, she assists businesses with a presence in Quebec by ensuring they are offered legal solutions that remain practical and align with their needs and values.

An outstanding litigator, Maude represents these companies before various administrative tribunals and civil courts, particularly in matters pertaining to interpreting and applying executive contracts (change of control and non-competition clauses, severance pay, etc.) and collective agreements, dispute resolution by arbitration, dismissal, harassment, and rights and freedoms.

She regularly negotiates the renewal of collective agreements.

Maude has authored several feature articles published in the Développements récents du Barreau du Québec (Continuing Education Department) and is regularly invited to speak to various employer associations and groups on a range of topics, including the duty of loyalty, non-competition and non-solicitation clauses, diversity management, reasonable accommodation, the use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace and psychological harassment.

Maude was elected as a member of the firm's partnership committee in Canada. Deeply involved, she notably served as chair of the Montreal Bar Liaison Committee with the Conférence des arbitres du Québec (from 2020 to 2024), a committee on which she still sits. For several years, she served as a director on the board of the Conseil du patronat du Québec, where she chaired the Human Resources subcommittee. Additionally, since 2025, she has served as a member of the board of directors of the DPJ Youth Foundation. She is also a member of the Grievance Arbitration Subcommittee of the Labour and Manpower Advisory Committee (CCTM).

Maude has also been teaching at the Quebec Bar School since 2023.

Before joining the Montréal office, Maude clerked for six months with a judge of the Quebec Court of Appeal.
