Biography
Jessica is a commercial dispute resolution lawyer in our Melbourne team. Her experience includes assisting in a broad range of litigious matters, primarily in the Supreme and Federal Courts. Jessica acts for clients across a variety of industries including financial services, life sciences and healthcare, automotive, energy and oil and gas. As part of her role in the litigation team Jessica is required to work closely with colleagues across Australia, external experts and counsel to achieve successful outcomes for her clients.

- Oman Investment Authority: representing an OIA subsidiary, Singapore Mining Acquisition Co, in Victorian Supreme Court proceedings against ASX-listed Berkeley Energia relating to a US$65 million investment in a proposed Spanish uranium mine.
- Warukal Group Australia Pty Ltd: representing indigenous directors and shareholders in a winding up application in the Federal Court of Australia. The application was successful and the Court ordered that the company be wound up on just and equitable grounds.
- Private company: representing majority and minority sellers in an expert determination regarding a post completion payment and in relation to proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria alleging that the independent expert made manifest errors in his determination.
- A Chinese wind energy developer and operator: advising in relation to a number of discrete disputes, including as to the alleged early expiry of the off-take agreement, between our client and the off-taker, a major electricity retailer.
- A large automobile manufacturer: assisting with a class action and other litigation commenced by former dealers in relation to its withdrawal from the Australian market.
- A leading tyre importer and distributor: representing one of Australia's largest tyre importers and distributors in relation to a subpoena issued in the District Court of Western Australia.
- State Trustees Limited: representing the public trustee of the State of Victoria at the thirtieth public hearing of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.
- Private individual: advising a high net worth individual on potential breaches by the trustees of the various trusts in which she is a specified beneficiary and representing her in a Supreme Court of Victoria proceeding brought by the trustee of one of the family trusts.
- A large oil and gas company: representing a large oil and gas company in a coronial inquest into the death of an employee on one of its oil rigs.
- A leading biopharmaceutical company: advising on a proposed application to the Federal Court of Australia under the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1997 in respect of an (anticipated unfavourable) exercise by the minister of his discretion under section 99AC of the National Health Act 1953 (Cth).
- A leading agricultural machinery company: representing one of Australia's largest agricultural machinery companies in numerous matters including in relation to a breach of contract claim brought in the District Court of South Australia and in a debt claim in the County Court of Victoria.
- A large food and beverage manufacturer and distributor: representing one of Australia's largest food and beverage manufacturers and distributors in relation to an industrial dispute with a workers' union.
- A technology company: representing a specialised 3D printing manufacturer in relation to a freedom of information request under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic).
- Department of Health: advising the Department of Health in relation to a potential claim by one of its suppliers.
- A large agriculture distributor: representing one of Australia's largest privately owned agriculture distributors in relation to a misleading or deceptive conduct claim and negligence claim brought in the New South Wales District Court.
