Biography

Carolyn Webb is a senior associate in the Houston office.  Her practice focuses on labor and employment law, including litigation, arbitration, workplace investigations, and advising on transactions.  She has extensive experience defending clients in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour lawsuits in state and federal court as well as alternative dispute resolution forums.  Carolyn also has a robust practice advising clients on employment law issues in corporate transactions and, in particular, representing insurance clients providing M&A representations and warranties insurance coverage.

  • Successfully obtained summary judgment for a Fortune 500 energy company in a case involving claims of disability, sex, and pregnancy discrimination, retaliation, and failure to accommodate under Title VII, the PDA, and the ADA
  • Successfully obtained complete 12(b)(6) dismissal for waste management company in case by former employee involving claims of forced labor under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, a civil claim under RICO, and a claim of unjust enrichment and successfully defended dismissal on appeal
  • Represented pipeline provider in lawsuit in Texas state court seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against two former employees accused of soliciting employes, misappropriating trade secrets, and making disparaging statements
  • Represented bakery supply company in dispute in the Southern District of New York against four individuals and entities seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction on claims of breach of a non-compete agreement, unlawful solicitation of customers and employees, and misappropriation of trade secrets
  • Represented auto care company in lawsuit filed against it by competitor alleging tortious interference, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breaches of non-competition agreements by newly hired employees
