Biography

Heather's practice focuses on advising and defending employers in complex employment litigation, such as harassment, defamation, whistleblower retaliation, and wage and hour class actions. In addition to her litigation practice, Heather conducts workplace investigations involving allegations of harassment, hostile work environments, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing, and violation of company policies.  

Heather also advises employers and their management personnel on a variety of day-to-day legal issues, including employment termination issues, confidentiality and non-compete issues, wage and hour compliance, and employee or supervisor training.  Heather is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for Labor and Employment Law.

  • Successfully obtained summary judgment for an energy company in a case involving discrimination and retaliation under the Americans with Disability Act
  • Successfully obtained summary judgment for transportation company in a case involving multiple plaintiffs asserting allegations of a racially hostile work environment under Title VII and Section 1981
  • Successfully obtained summary judgment for NASA contractor in a case involving whistleblower allegations under the False Claims Act and Defense Contractor Whistleblower Protection Act
  • Successfully obtained early dismissal for a retail client in a wage and hour dispute
  • Successfully obtained summary judgment for retailer in EEOC class action involving allegations of age discrimination
  • Assisted in obtaining favorable settlement for an environmental services client in a Fair Labor Standards Act lawsuit
  • Assisted in representing of a construction client accused of willful and serious violations of OSHA, which resulted in a favorable settlement to the client
  • Assisted in representation of a transportation client at trial accused of willful and serious violations of Title VII
