Norton Rose Fulbright adds seasoned infrastructure lawyer

Global Press release - People March 2022

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced the arrival of infrastructure lawyer Rhodri Evans as senior counsel.

With many years of private practice and in-house experience, Rhodri brings in-depth knowledge of the evolving infrastructure sector, with particular experience on high-profile and pathfinder US infrastructure projects. Rhodri offers a whole-life perspective on P3, design-build and project finance risk allocation issues given his extensive experience guiding clients beyond the proposal and financial close phases, through the construction period to the handover of the completed project to the concessionaire and operator or owner.

Doug Fried, Norton Rose Fulbright’s US Head of Infrastructure, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Rhodri to our infrastructure team at a time of historic investment activity. His experience advising the various entities involved in every stage of infrastructure projects matches our commitment to providing clients with seamless advice across the lifecycle of an asset.”

Doug Buchanan, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Global Head of Infrastructure and Resources, said:

“We have worked with Rhodri for many years. He is a hugely respected practitioner in the infrastructure market and his deep understanding and knowledge base will greatly benefit our clients’ global business.”

Rhodri, who has most recently advised on a range of US infrastructure projects, said:

“I’m excited to be joining a team that has been at the heart of some of the largest and most challenging projects in North America. I’m eager to build on the team’s great work in the market, and help our clients bring complex projects to a successful completion.”

Prior to joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Rhodri was in-house counsel at the North American subsidiaries of a leading Spanish construction company. Before that, he was a member of the finance and projects groups in the London offices of two major international law firms.

Norton Rose Fulbright has been ranked as the leading North American infrastructure legal advisor by volume since 2016.  For the full year 2021, our North American infrastructure team advised on 52 transactions with an aggregate deal value of US$16.1 billion. (See Inframation League Tables.)
