Norton Rose Fulbright’s Rodney Acker receives Joe H. Reynolds Award from American College of Trial Lawyers
United States | Press release - Recognition | May 2025
The Texas State Committee Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) have honored Norton Rose Fulbright of counsel Rodney Acker (Dallas and New York) with the Joe H. Reynolds Award. Joe H. Reynolds was a highly decorated Marine and outstanding Texas trial lawyer who fought at Iwo Jima in WWII and was one of the Frozen Chosin in the Korean War. This prestigious award has only been given six times since it was established in 2010 when former partner Leon Jaworski posthumously received the honor.
Rodney received this award for his exceptional career in civil trial law that has exemplified the qualities of ethics and professionalism embodied in the ACTL’s Code of Trial and Pretrial Conduct.
Following his ACTL induction in 1997, Rodney has been a leader within the ACTL Texas Fellowship for more than 15 years. He began as Regent for the Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas region before becoming an officer for four years and, most recently, completed a term as president in 2021. Since then, he has actively served as a mentor and motivator in the organization.
The Texas State Committee, which is currently comprised of 38 Fellows from around the state, unanimously voted to honor Rodney with the Joe H. Reynolds Award for his accomplishments as a lawyer and a Fellow. ACTL is an invite-only fellowship of trial lawyers from the US and Canada who have demonstrated the highest standards of trial advocacy.
