Norton Rose Fulbright launches diversity scholarship for first-year law students

United States Press release - Firm December 16, 2019

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is pleased to announce that it has established a new diversity fellowship for first-year law students. Fellows will receive a US$10,000 scholarship for tuition and related expenses (in addition to summer associate pay), along with a summer associate position in our Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York, San Antonio, St. Louis or Washington, DC, office.

Law students encouraged to apply include highly motivated members of diverse populations that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession, including, but not limited to, racial, ethnic, and gender minorities, members of the LGBTQ community, first-generation college and/or graduate students, disabled individuals, veterans and students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.

The law firm is seeking candidates in their first-year of law school who are committed to promoting diversity and who, ideally, have demonstrated that commitment in their communities, schools and/or workplaces. In evaluating candidates for the Diversity Fellowship Program, Norton Rose Fulbright will consider personal achievements, academic achievements and demonstrated leadership ability.

Norton Rose Fulbright remains deeply committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace – and to reaping the benefits that accrue from creating such a culture. The Diversity Fellowship Program is the latest example of the firm's efforts to promote diversity and inclusion.
