Biography
Allison Silverman Lamb is a senior associate in the New York office. Since joining the firm in 2017, Allison’s practice focuses on litigation, with a particular emphasis on complex commercial litigation, environmental litigation, and energy disputes. She has represented foreign and domestic clients across a wide spectrum of industries, including the environmental, reinsurance, financial services, energy, and healthcare industries in state and federal court litigations, as well as international arbitrations. Allison has successfully defended major corporations in class action suits involving complex environmental claims, unfair trade practices and marketing claims, and allegations of personal injury and property damage. She has significant experience in every phase of litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Allison is also active in the firm’s pro bono program and her pro bono experience includes obtaining a winning jury verdict in a civil rights litigation in federal court.

Represented privately-held Canadian companies in an ICDR arbitration seated in New York arising from dissolution of a business relationship intended to acquire and manage a portfolio of museum-quality artworks and involving claims seeking to expel a shareholder and recover damages related to the diminution of value of the companies’ art assets purchased for more than $200 million.
Represented renewable energy company in contract dispute related to development of solar energy projects in New York state court, including drafting dispositive motions, and engaging in settlement discussions.
Obtained complete victory for Fortune 500 company in environmental contamination suit under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, which was affirmed by the Seventh Circuit, after prevailing on all claims at summary judgment and through a bench trial in federal court in Indiana.
Represented Fortune 500 company and successfully defeated class certification of putative class of thousands of plaintiffs alleging personal injury and property damages related to groundwater contamination and vapor intrusion in federal court.
Defending major manufacturing company in mass action suit in Indiana state court against various tort and property claims related to alleged exposure to chlorinated volatile organic compounds in groundwater.
Defending major manufacturing company in mass action suit in Indiana state court against various tort claims related to alleged exposure asbestos.
Member of trial team that secured a jury verdict in favor of our client in a Section 1983 civil rights lawsuit in New York federal court.
Represented international airline in New York federal court defending against breach of contract claims concerning multiple aircraft finance lease agreements, and negotiated and obtained favorable settlement for the client following mediation.
Represented state agency in litigation filed in federal court in Pennsylvania by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau alleging claims for unfair practices under the Consumer Financial Protection Act and violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Represented global reinsurance company in dispute against insurer in New York federal court involving mutual claims of breach of contract and breach of the duty of utmost good faith. Following a jury trial, the case was successfully resolved pending appeal.
Represented insurance company against insured hotel in a bench trial in New York federal court.
Represented insurance companies in two related suits brought in Texas state courts alleging the insurers had wrongfully denied claims in bad faith.
Represented insurer defendants in lawsuit brought by insured in New York federal court alleging claims for breach of contract, breach of good faith and fair dealing, declaratory judgment, unfair and deceptive acts in violation of Massachusetts General Laws chapters 93A and 176D, and unfair and deceptive practices in violation of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA). After successfully obtaining dismissal of bad faith claim and all four declaratory judgment claims, negotiated and secured settlement for the client following mediation.
Obtained a complete victory for client in bid protest for contract services in Dakar, Senegal, after successfully appealing decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Represented U.S. Army veteran and secured a complete victory at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, successfully appealing the U.S. Court of Federal Claims’ decision in favor of the Government in a case concerning the Army’s removal of our client from active status and miscalculations in his service record. Upon reversing the Claims Court’s decision, the Federal Circuit remanded the case for the official adjustment to our client’s service record, and awarded our client all costs.
Defended New York City not-for-profit corporation in contract dispute in New York state court, including taking depositions, drafting motions, and oral arguments on dispositive motions. Obtained dismissal with prejudice of all claims against client.
