Biography

Lilit Nagapetyan is a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer based in London. Her practice focuses on all aspects of commercial disputes.

Lilit has experience in large-scale cross-border and domestic commercial litigations and high-value international commercial arbitration proceedings (LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL etc). Her experience encompasses injunctions (both in the context of international arbitration and litigation), contractual breaches, fraud claims, partnership disputes, and enforcing foreign judgments and arbitral awards. She has also assisted clients in resolving disputes through ADR including mediation, expert determination, negotiation.

Lilit is also a chartered accountant with considerable experience in forensic quantum analysis in the context of commercial disputes in a variety of industries including renewable energy, construction, telecommunications, and natural resources, as well as international and cross-border investigations. She has previously practised with a top-10 accounting firm in London where she has been involved in a wide range of litigation and arbitration disputes, as well as EC and CMA Monitoring Trustee mandates.

  • Acting for one of the largest providers of electric power transmission activities in Brazil in an ICC arbitration arising out of a post-M&A dispute in the windfarm sector;
  • Acting against a major Asian shipyard in ten concurrent LCIA arbitrations over £800million in total arising from the termination of 10 shipbuilding contracts for containerships;
  • Acting for a commercial passenger and cargo airline in an LCIA arbitration over breach of a wet lease;
  • Acting for claimant in a subrogated claim being brought by the insurers in ICC arbitration in relation to aircraft purchase agreement;
  • Acting for claimant in a £1.8 billion LCIA arbitration concerning a debt claim for repayment of sums pursuant to an intra-group loan agreement;
  • Acting for claimant, one of the largest independent oil and gas producers in the Russian Federation, in a high-value ICC arbitration over enforcement of contractual guarantee obligations in an engineering industry;
  • Acting for respondent in an LCIA arbitration over breach of a non-disclosure agreement affecting pre-merger negotiations;
  • Acting for claimant in an ad hoc arbitration against a Togo company over a breach of a partnership agreement to provide international remittance services;
  • Acting for claimant in an ad hoc arbitration over a breach of a Charterparty agreement.
