Norton Rose Fulbright advises PGE on PLN500m financing

Global Business December, 2015

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna in relation to documentation for a PLN500m credit facility from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego to finance ongoing business activity and PGE Group investments.

This is the second facility to be granted to PGE by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego under the “Inwestycje Polskie” programme. Norton Rose Fulbright also advised on the documentation for the previous financing of PLN1bn, granted by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego in December, 2014.

“Inwestycje Polskie” is a government-run initiative aimed at sustaining current rapid growth in long-term investments in infrastructure with attractive financing terms, in addition to complementing the existing range of products offered by financial institutions on the Polish market.

The scheme provides funds for projects in energy (distribution and production) and gas (transmission grid, extraction, storage) infrastructure, management of hydrocarbon deposits (including shale gas), transport infrastructure, local government authority infrastructure (recycling of waste, transport system), and industrial and telecommunications infrastructure.

Partner Grzegorz Dyczkowski led the team advising on the transaction, assisted by senior associate Jacek Smardzewski and associate Daniel Popek.
