Norton Rose Fulbright advises M Group on acquisition of Telent Technology Services Limited

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised M Group (Services) Limited and M Group Telecom Holdings Limited (M Group) on the acquisition of Telent Technology Services Limited (Telent), the leading provider of operational technology and digital solutions for critical national infrastructure across the UK and Ireland. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
Telent provides specialist mission critical communications, network infrastructure and end-to-end cyber security services, to telecom, transport, water, energy, education, defence, emergency services and public sectors.
M Group has a proven track record of achieving growth through M&A including through its recent acquisition of technical engineering business, BGEN Ltd (on which Norton Rose Fulbright also advised M Group). M Group is backed by CVC, one of the world’s leading private equity firms. The acquisition of Telent expands M Group’s reach into attractive adjacent markets, including the education, defence, emergency services and public sectors and strengthens their longstanding relationships with shared customers including Transport for London (TfL), National Highways, Network Rail, Virgin Media O2, BT, EE and Openreach.
The London-based Norton Rose Fulbright team advising M Group on this transaction was led by corporate partners Sophie O’Connor and Mark Maurice supported by senior associate Tom Widdows and associate Rahul Medappa. Partners Dominic Stuttaford and Jamie Cooke advised on key tax and competition aspects of the deal respectively.
