Biography
Simon Gottlieb is an associate based in the firm's Minneapolis office and a member of the Products, Pharmaceutical, Medical and Mass Tort litigation group. He handles product liability defense, restructuring litigation, white-collar investigations and compliance, class actions and general commercial litigation matters.
Simon's experience spans the range of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, fact and expert discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, oral argument and jury trial. Before joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Simon was a litigation associate at a global law firm where his practice focused on representing Fortune 500 companies on a range of issues, including high-stakes, bet-the-company litigation.

- Represented pet food manufacturer alleging fraud and RICO claims against suppliers based on criminal scheme to defraud.
- Represented one of the world's largest manufacturing companies in state court litigation arising from allegations that a hearing protection device caused hearing injuries. Simon was a member of several trial teams in numerous bellwether trials in the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
- Served on the Federal Monitor team that monitored and oversaw the safety operations of one of the nation's largest utility companies.
- Represented a clothing, shoes and accessories designer during its Chapter 11 cases in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, resulting in a successful settlement of a contested confirmation trial.
- Represented an oil and natural gas company during its Chapter 11 cases in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas resulting in a successful settlement of a contested confirmation trial.
- Represented an energy-control technology company and its debtor affiliates in their Chapter 11 cases in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana. The company and its non-debtor parent are defendants in the largest multi-district litigation in history, with over 230,000 personal injury claims related to hearing protection products.
- Represented an insurance broker in a dispute over insurance proceeds arising out of a flood.

- While at his previous firm, Simon was a key member of a trial team that earned "Litigators of the Week" honors by Am Law Litigation Daily after securing the first complete defense verdict on behalf of 3M Company in the Combat Arms Earplug multi-district litigation—the biggest MDL in history.
