Shelley Eichenlaub

Shelley Eichenlaub
Biography
Shelley Eichenlaub is trusted by private equity developers and Fortune 500 companies alike to provide practical legal guidance on project development, construction, start-up and asset operation efforts. She has in-depth experience supporting and advising various types of projects from hyperscalers to ethylene facilities on the Texas Gulf Coast and supporting international energy companies with battery energy storage project development activities for ERCOT, CAISO and MISO including engineering, procurement, construction, asset management activities, software services, joint ventures and M&A activities.
Prior to joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Shelley served as legal counsel for several major energy companies. She began her legal career in energy on the contractor side. Shelley also served first as counsel and then as a commercial lead for a private equity battery energy storage start-up that was subsequently purchased by another company in 2023. She was part of the deal team that helped to secure the acquisition and moved with the team to the new company providing integration oversight and leading a contracts team to complete development plans for CAISO and ERCOT.
Having worked on multiple mega-project teams throughout her career as well as teams delivering on portfolio plans, Shelley brings first-hand knowledge of how to work across internal functions to support project development efforts in preparation of final investment decisions and get a green light for execution. Projects aren’t all destined to move forward, and Shelley also has experience in winding projects down and closing out transactions for development efforts that have been under-funded, delayed or cancelled.
Projects don’t get built without funding, and Shelley has also been fortunate to provide legal guidance to teams securing traditional construction financing as well as tax equity investment and tax credit sales.
