Biography
Gerald Tan is a banking and finance lawyer based in London. He has a depth of experience advising lenders, borrowers and other market participants across the credit spectrum on a wide range of secured and unsecured cross-border and domestic investment grade and leveraged financings, acquisition financings, insurance-linked financings and other corporate lending transactions. Gerald has a particular focus on financings in the energy sector.
Gerald trained with the firm in London and qualified in August 2022. He has also spent six months on secondment to the competition and regulatory compliance team at a major integrated energy company and eight months on secondment to the credit products legal team at a leading American investment bank.

· Advising the syndicate of lenders on a £3,008,500,000 term loan and revolving credit facility made available to a British retail group for general corporate purposes.
· Advising the Financial Services Compensation Scheme on the refinancing of its £1.45 billion revolving credit facility.
· Advising a leading renewable energy solutions provider on USD120 million of equity bridge financing in connection with the financing of a battery energy storage system project.
· Advising the lenders on multiple amendment and restatements of a €300 million trade finance facility made available to a leading renewable energy company for enhanced working capital capacity and direct equity commitment support to the corporate group.
· Advising the lenders on a USD200 million super senior revolving credit facility and a USD100 million senior secured revolving credit facility made available to an international hydrocarbon and exploration and production company.
· Advising a leading speciality (re)insurance group on its regulatory capital facilities including a £350 million letter of credit facility, a £100 million term loan facility and a USD75 million term loan facility, to support its underwriting obligations in the Lloyd's of London insurance market.
· Advising the junior lender on a USD35 million term loan facility made available to a refinery owner and related intercreditor and security sharing arrangements.
· Advising a British engineering company on a £75 million revolving credit facility for the refinancing of existing debt and general corporate purposes.
