Biography
Jeffrey Robins concentrates on domestic and international tax as well as trust and estate planning for high net worth individuals and families. The clients he represents include international owners of successful multinational businesses and their international and US family members, US citizens who are resident abroad, and high net worth US families owning international businesses. Mr. Robins provides pre-immigration tax planning advice and counsels offshore trustees with respect to US tax and reporting issues. He is also experienced in structuring domestic and off-shore grantor and non-grantor trusts in a variety of transactional contexts.

- Advised the trustees and protectors of Cayman and Bahamian trusts for the benefit of a well-known sprawling international family and charities with respect to the tax impact of the trust structure on the US family member beneficiaries, devising a comprehensive plan for minimizing the impact of the US throwback tax regime.
- Advised a US-European family owning a prominent global multi-generational business with respect to its Jersey (Channel Islands) trust structure and spearheaded a major restructuring to solve problems posed by the US PFIC, CFC foreign trust throwback tax regimes.
- Advises a large US-European family with a multi-billion dollar global business, owned primarily by several sets of US and offshore trusts, on all aspects of their trust, tax, business succession and personal planning.
- Designed and implemented the domestication of a large and complex offshore trust and corporate structure after the trusts became nongrantor foreign trusts upon the death of the settlor, including the creation of a US private trust company structure intended to mirror the pre-domestication offshore private trust companies.
