Biography


Tony Atwal focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial trial and appellate litigation. He has litigated complex lawsuits nationwide in federal and state courts in the areas of pharmaceutical drugs, medical devices, financial services, adulterated goods, wage and hour, contracts and governmental regulation.

Tony has also briefed and argued more than 120 cases before the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Since 2009, he has been an appellate advocacy adjunct professor of law at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and was awarded professor of the year in 2016.

Tony has held two clerkships in the Second Judicial District of Minnesota with the Honorable Gregg E. Johnson from 2002-2003 and with the Honorable Wilhelmina M. Wright from 2001-2002.

Previously in his career, Tony served as a Minnesota district court judge and presided over civil, criminal, juvenile and family court cases.
