Biography
Andy Guo has a Ph.D. in Translational Biology and Molecular Medicine, and his practice areas include intellectual property transactions, patent prosecution and patent litigation.
Before joining the firm, Andy had a fruitful career in academic technology transfer for about six years. He is experienced with evaluating inventions and communicating with researchers, cultivating industry-academia partnerships and commercializing a wide variety of life science and healthcare inventions, such as therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices and research tools. He understands the unique aspects of academic technology transfer and has experience advising academic institutions after joining the firm.
While in law school, Andy authored two award-winning papers on patent litigation and licensing topics, one of which was published in the Houston Law Review.
While completing his Ph.D. degree, Andy conducted neuroscience research and published first-author and co-author peer-reviewed scientific papers.
