Utsav is a member of global energy disputes team, and he focuses his practice on energy infrastructure and shipping matters. He has assisted clients on a variety of energy infrastructure projects including the construction of crude oil pipelines and LNG-fueled offshore power generation facilities. Further, Utsav has counseled clients on a wide range of laws affecting energy project development and operation in the United States, such as the Rivers and Harbors Act, Jones Act, and others.
In addition, he has represented vessel owners and cargo interests in a wide variety of shipping disputes including cargo damage claims, personal injury claims, maritime liens, vessel arrests, maritime attachment and garnishment remedies, and oil & gas exploration and production casualties and disputes.
Utsav is also a member of Norton Rose Fulbright's Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity group. He advises clients on strategies to mitigate the risks associated with data breaches and assists with the implementation of compliance regimes. Further, in the immediate aftermath of a breach, he assists clients with breach notification and remediation.
As a disputes lawyer, Utsav has handled litigation at all stages. He has taken and defended fact and expert depositions, prepared pre-trial and post-trial briefings, handled pre-trial and post-trial hearings, and tried cases to verdict.
