Deborah Gitomer (Houston) and Eric Tashman (San Francisco) have been named BTI Client Service All-Stars for 2017.

Gitomer, who focuses her practice on oil, gas and energy transactions, is one of just eight lawyers in the world to receive BTI's Client Service Super All-Star designation, which indicates recognition from more than one influential legal decision maker this year. This marks the third year that Gitomer has been lauded by BTI. She was also named a Client Service All-Star in 2012 and 2015.

A major energy company that nominated Gitomer spoke highly of her. "She completely understands the business side of our matters, and gives us personalized attention," it told BTI.

This is the first year that Tashman, who focuses on municipal finance matters, has been named a BTI Client Service All-Star.

Only 319 lawyers globally were selected for this honor, which recognizes lawyers who have provided "client service exceeding all others." We are one of just 54 worldwide legal practices that has multiple BTI Client Service All-Stars among its ranks.

The rankings are based entirely on in-depth telephone interviews with more than 300 corporate counsel from Fortune 1000 and other large companies. The research is independent, and lawyers cannot nominate themselves to be added to the list.

Lawyers were rated based on six key factors: superior client focus; innovative thought leadership; delivering efficient, value-added service; exceptional understanding of the client's business; legal skills; and delivery of outstanding results.

BTI is a market research firm that conducts custom client surveys as part of its client feedback programs to drive client service delivery. Read Law360's coverage of the 2017 Client Service 30, and learn more about our awards and rankings.
