Global Press release - Business March 2023

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is advising Cognizant on its agreement to acquire Mobica, an Internet of Things (IoT) software engineering services provider.

Mobica's services span the full software development cycle, with core competencies in development, implementation, testing and deployment of embedded software, and a specialisation in clients' strategic internal research and development projects. Headquartered in Manchester, UK, Mobica also has offices across Europe and the US.

Cognizant, which is one of the world’s leading professional services companies, helps clients to modernise technology, reimagine processes and transform experiences so they can stay ahead in our fast-changing world.

The acquisition, which closed on Friday 10 March 2023, will significantly expand Cognizant's IoT embedded software engineering capabilities across the technology and automotive industries. It will also allow Cognizant to provide clients with a deeper and broader array of end-to-end support to enable digital transformation. Through the acquisition, Cognizant will gain nearly 900 people across Europe and North America, including approximately 550 engineers in Poland.

Clementine Hogarth, corporate partner who co-led the Norton Rose Fulbright team, commented: “We are so pleased to have advised our client on this exciting transaction. This acquisition will enable Cognizant to grow its presence in Eastern Europe, as well as enhance digital transformation outcomes for its global clients.”
