Biography
Marcus Evans is data protection, privacy and cybersecurity lawyer based in London. As a partner in the communications media and technology team, Marcus leads our European Data Protection, Privacy and Cyber Security Group and is a member of our International Outsourcing Group.
Marcus has experience of all aspects of data protection, IT and business process outsourcing transactions. He regularly coordinates multijurisdictional data privacy projects covering all aspects of data privacy compliance. He has negotiated a number of large offshore and multijurisdictional outsourcing deals, and also advises on disputes and re-negotiations in the sector for multinational customers, public sector bodies and industry suppliers. He also advises on software licensing, e-commerce, apps, freedom of information and trade mark licensing, and IT issues in M&A transactions.
Marcus has spoken at industry events on data protection, cyber, blockchain, outsourcing and open source software issues.
Marcus has been recognized as a leading UK data privacy practitioner in Chambers & Partners consecutively from 2014 to 2021. "He gives very helpful, insightful and considered advice, and he is extremely approachable."
