Biography
Miriam Kaufmann is a finance lawyer based in London.
She has a broad range of experience advising both lenders and borrowers on cross-border and domestic real estate financings, corporate loans, investment grade facilities, acquisition financings, asset based lending, financial restructurings, export credit financings and general banking matters, including bilateral and syndicated loans.
In recent years, Miriam has also been advising issuers on European high yield bond transactions.
During her time at the firm, Miriam has completed a number of client secondments at two of the firm's major banking clients and has spent six months at our banking and finance team in Frankfurt where she worked on German law and English law transactions.
Miriam trained with us in London and qualified in April 2016. She is fluent in English and German.

Relevant recent experience includes:
- Representing a leading international shipping company on the proposed offering of $500,000,000 of senior notes due 2032 and the proposed listing of the high yield notes on The International Stock Exchange.
- Representing a Tier1 automotive supplier on the proposed offering of €310,000,000 of senior secured notes due 2029 and the proposed listing of the high yield notes on The International Stock Exchange.
- Advising a large financial institution on the provision of a forward funding facility for the development of a 375-bed student accommodation development in Canning Town.
- Advising a large financial institution on the provision of senior debt to finance the acquisition of a warehouse located in the East Midlands of the UK.
- Representing a leading bank on its senior debt provision to a multiple “opco-propco” structure for the purpose of refinancing the cost of acquisition of a large portfolio of student housing based in the North of England and Scotland.
- Advising a large financial institution on the provision of a multi-tranche facility, including a green loan facility, for the purpose of acquiring and re-developing a large portfolio of student houses located in the Manchester and Liverpool area.
- Representing a global bank on a multi-year stop-loss transaction with a global reinsurer which took the form of an innovative hybrid transaction using a transformer vehicle.
- Representing a global bank on the provision of multi- year collateralised reinsurance to a leading specialist run-off insurer via a cell structure and a multiyear stop- loss transaction.
- Advising a large real estate company on a syndicated multimillion investment grade revolving credit facility agreement.
- Advising a UK property investment fund on its multiple acquisition financings of residential property portfolios.
