UK-EU Trade and Co-operation Agreement approved by UK Parliament and EU ambassadors

Members of the UK Parliament have voted to approve the European Union (Future Relationship) Bill (The Bill) on Wednesday December 30, 2020. The Bill brings the UK-EU Trade and Co-operation Agreement (TCA) into UK law from the 11pm on December 31, 2020.
The Bill passed through the House of Commons by 521 to 73 votes after Members of Parliament were recalled. It will be reviewed by the House of Lords and will receive royal assent on Wednesday evening.
Ambassadors of the EU-27 had also unanimously approved the TCA earlier this week, before it was signed by presidents of the European Commission and the European Council. Under EU rules the TCA can take effect provisionally, though the European Parliament must ratify it before the end of the provisional application period, currently scheduled to end on February 28, 2021.
