Biography
Alexandra Shields is a recognised employment and labour lawyer with more than 20 years'experience.
Alexandra's expertise are across all areas of employment, workplace relationships andindustrial relations law for public and private sector clients, with very strong experience inworkplace litigation, including discrimination, sexual harassment and equal opportunityclaims, unfair and unlawful dismissals, breach of restraints and Consumer Law claims.
Alexandra is a passionate workplace advocate for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion activelytraining and advising Boards and a large range of organisations on compliance andimproved business outcomes through positive workplace culture, respectful workplaces andeliminating toxic behaviours as part of her broader employment law practice.
Alexandra has a sound understanding of her clients' businesses and provides a practical andsolutions-focused approach. Alexandra regularly represents and advocates for clients inconciliations and hearings in various jurisdictions and has expertise in:
strategic employment, discrimination and industrial relations advice;
advising on matters involving employee management and termination of employmentstrategies;
Breach of restraint advice and litigation
workplace investigations, particularly in matters relating to sexual harassment, bullyingand discrimination;
drafting employment contracts and policies;
unfair dismissal, unlawful termination and discrimination claims; and
workplace training.
Alexandra is a regular and engaging presenter at client and external industry seminars on various aspects of employment law.
