Biography

David Metzger is a ship finance lawyer based in London.

David advises owners and lenders (including banks, funds and other institutional investors) in a wide variety of ship finance and offshore transactions, including syndicated and structured finance deals, restructurings, refinancings, new building financings and sale and purchase of second-hand vessels.

David has acted on financings for VLCCs, container ships, LNG and general cargo vessels as well as FPSOs and offshore support vessels.

  • The agent on a number of loan facilities to a large shipping company in connection with the recapitalisation of its offshore business.
  • The agent for a syndicate of banks in connection with a term loan facility to the Norwegian holding company of the FPSO business of a large shipping company.
