Biography

Kyle is a competition and regulatory litigator based in London. Ranked as a 'key lawyer' by The Legal 500 for EU and Competition Law (2021, 2022), Kyle has also been a member of the teams awarded or shortlisted as 'Competition and Regulatory Team of the Year' at The Lawyer Awards (2018, 2020) and the Legal Business Awards (2018, 2020). He also has in-house experience as a secondee to a global energy company.

Kyle represents regulated companies subject to licensing regimes and rules that set the parameters of how they can do business in advance, including in the energy, water, rail, air traffic, telecoms, and financial sectors. Kyle advises clients on how to promote successful regulatory outcomes concerning price control reviews and licence modifications (such as Ofgem's RIIO-ED2, the CAA's H7, and Ofwat's PR24) through strategic engagement and, where necessary, through dispute resolution including challenges under the Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations, regulatory appeals procedures, and applications for judicial review. He also acts for claimants and defendants in complex standalone and follow-on competition litigation, including in class actions before the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal.

Kyle is a solicitor advocate and has appeared before the European Court of Justice, the European Commission, and the UK Competition and Markets Authority. A member of the Constitutional and Administrative Law Bar Association, Kyle holds a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford, a Master's in EU Law from King's College London (Merit), and a BA (Joint Hons) from Yale University (Distinction).
