Claire Whitney is a projects lawyer based in our London office with a focus on the energy transition and offtake arrangements.

Claire advises borrowers, banks, sponsors, offtakers and equity and infrastructure funds in relation to developing, and financing, energy projects in the UK  and internationally.

Claire specialises in project delivery including reviewing, drafting and negotiating the associated commercial agreements; offtake, power purchase agreements, electricity trading, carbon, electricity regulation, grid connection, wheeling, CHP agreements, heat supply agreements, tolling agreements, fuel delivery and the associated tripartite deeds and credit support.

Claire’s core area of expertise is in offtake agreements, she has a broad range of experience in both physical delivery and financial PPAs, corporate PPAs, ISDAs, green benefit offtake, hydrogen offtake and energy supply agreements where she has acted for a wide range of lenders, sponsors and offtakers.

Claire also spent ten years working in Australia, where she acted on multiple large-scale, first of kind, energy projects.
