Norton Rose Fulbright and Zukunftsinstitut publish groundbreaking study on megatrends for the future of mobility
Press release - Business | May 2025
Munich/Vienna: The global commercial law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, together with the Zukunftsinstitut in Vienna, has published a recent study on megatrends for the future of mobility. The study focuses on 14 important key trends that are considered to be driving the mobility revolution.
According to the study, the mobility of the future will be more sustainable, more flexible, more unconventional, more crisis-prone and, above all, more limited in terms of space - especially in urban areas. This unstoppable, rapid transformation requires the economy and, above all, politics to adapt quickly and innovatively.
Harry Gatterer, CEO of the Zukunftsinstitut and future management expert: “It is no longer a question of whether mobility will change - but who will survive this change.
The study sees approaches to effectively and sustainably shaping this change in a cross-sector electrification of the mobility sector, networked digital mobility, optimized supply chain systems, substantially sustainable mobility concepts and transparent regulatory frameworks, among other things.
Karsten Kühnle, Partner and Project Manager of the study at Norton Rose Fulbright: “The Mobility Megatrend Study is definitely a compass for investments, strategic directions and political decisions“.
