Norton Rose Fulbright advises GARBE and BREMER Projektentwicklung on Joint Venture Sale of Logistics Center in Bitterfeld
Germany | Press release - Business | July 2025
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised GARBE Industrial Real Estate in a joint venture with BREMER Projektentwicklung and Quakernack on the sale of a large-scale logistics center in the “Technologiepark Mitteldeutschland” in Bitterfeld to a fund managed by Clarion Partners Europe. This follows their previous legal support during the acquisition and leasing phases. The project is considered one of the largest logistics developments in Germany in recent years.
The project comprises approximately 125,000 square meters of leasable space on a site of around 222,000 square meters. It was constructed in three phases and is fully leased to companies in the automotive industry. The location offers direct access to the A9 motorway, connecting the region to Leipzig, Nuremberg, Munich, and Berlin.
Sustainability played a central role in the development: the halls are heated using air-source heat pumps, with no use of fossil fuels. A photovoltaic system with a capacity of 4.5 megawatts peak was installed on the rooftops. A platinum certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) is being pursued.
Team lead Patrick Narr (Corporate/Real Estate, Hamburg) commented: “We are pleased to have supported GARBE and BREMER Projektentwicklung in this transaction. The project impressively demonstrates how ESG-compliant logistics properties can be successfully developed and placed in established locations.”
The NRF team was led by partner Patrick Narr, supported by senior associate Malte Meyer (Corporate/Real Estate, Hamburg). Also involved in the transaction were counsel Dr. Tobias Block (Real Estate, Hamburg), counsel Dr. Karsten Alex (Corporate/Real Estate, Hamburg), and associate Sebastian Sievers (Corporate/Real Estate, Hamburg).
